Shipping interiors and exteriors of most sizes catered for

Whether a superyacht, classic clipper or even a rib inflatable boat our skill and equipment can help with your 3D scanning project. Interiors recorded in three dimensions for fitting purposes.

By their very nature ships and boats, apart from the smallest craft, are generally expensive if not impossible to transport for scanning. 3D Engineers comes to you and sets up equipment on-site. Recording for insurance, pipe layout and health and safety purposes is all possible. Ability to move between rooms and then join scans together to create a design layout to high accuracy in 3D space is possible. Coupled with existing external ship design, creates a cohesive whole. Colorised 3D point cloud scans and panoramic images allow you to see your data in ways previously not possible. It is important to understand that a 3D scan is the first part of the Computer Aided Design (CAD) journey. It is possible, but in 3D Engineers experience only in a minority of projects, that the scan is all that is needed. The experience to move the design data collected through to a completed design for a CAD program, such as Solidworks, is proven.

Portable 3D scanning equipment

Transporting all but the smallest sea craft is impossible or expensive. 3D Engineers' laser scanning equipment and ancillary equipment is portable by hand. Can also scan offshore and on a ship or boat.

Can develop 3D scan data all way through to manufacture sign-off

3D scanning is one part of a process. If required, 3D Engineers can develop a laser scan into a polygon and ultimately a full Computer Aided Design (CAD) file.

Health and Safety recording

3D scanning and panoramic photography of marine craft of all sizes undertaken. Scanning records, for most ship or boat structures, health, safety and insurance purposes.
