It is said that you cannot have a product produced on time, to a good quality and on budget. You can have any combination of two of the requirements, but not all three.

3D Engineers has turned this accepted notion on its head by producing a buck for a client to create a child's Aston Martin DB2/4 Drophead Coupe that meets all three criteria. Four feet long, it is totally superb and a work of art in itself.

Loads of problems solved on the way and the project required very advanced Computer Aided Design (CAD) surfacing skills as well as advanced knowledge of manufacturing issues.

The project from start to finish including two design versions and manufacture took just over three weeks.
